
The 13th Dubai Globe Soccer Awards were held at the glitzy Madinat Jumeirah Resort. It was there that Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema took home the coveted Men’s Player of the Year honor. Other notable winners included Mohamed Salah of the Egyptian national team and Liverpool, as well as former stars Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
For the 34-year-old Benzema, who just last month won the Ballon d’Or, football’s highest honor. It was his second consecutive accolade for outstanding play on the field.
The new TikTok Fans’ Player of the Year Award went to Salah.
While Rooney and Ibrahimovic split the Player Career Award, Real Madrid won the Men’s Club of the Year Award.
Some of the biggest names in football, like Sergio Ramos, Paolo Maldini, and Francesco Totti, participated in the high-profile event. That was organized by the Dubai Sports Council.
The 17-year-old Colombian Linda Caicedo and the 28-year-old Barcelona player beat Beth Mead of England and Beth Mead to win the honor.
Salah received the last prize of the evening after garnering the most votes from spectators throughout the entire evening.
The year’s best men’s club, The accolades kept coming in for Los Blancos as Real Madrid had an exceptionally successful season on the field. Winning the Champions League and La Liga twice.
The Best Coach of the Year accolade went to Carlo Ancelotti instead of Pep Guardiola or Jose Mourinho.
After leading Real Madrid to a victory in 2014, the Italian won the prize for the first time since then.
