Cody Gakpo has led the Netherlands’ campaign in a similar manner, helping them advance as the highly regarded team from Group A and into the Round of 16. England, the group’s victor, took the top spot with two wins and a draw. The USA men’s football team advanced thanks to Christian Pulisic’s goal against Iran in the decisive championship game.

Brazil advanced to the next round despite playing without their star player Neymar, who was sidelined with an injury. Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, successfully advanced from Group G after defeating Ghana 3-2 and Uruguay 3-2. Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, overcame a shocking loss to Saudi Arabia to advance from Group C.
